I will not enter while laughing loudly.

I will not eat almsfood pressing down the heap from the top.

นะ สูปัง วา พ๎ยัญชะนัง วา โอทะเนนะ ปะฏิจฉาเทสสามิ ภิยโยกัม๎ยะตัง อุปาทายาติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sūpaṃ vā byañjanaṃ vā odanena paṭicchādessāmi bhiyyo kāmyataṃ upādāyāti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not cover curry or rice in order to get more out of greed.

นะ สูปัง วา โอทะนัง วา อะคิลาโน อัตตะโน อัตถายะ วิญญาเปต๎วา ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sūpaṃ vā odanaṃ vā agilāno attano atthāya viññāpetvā bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

Being not ill, I will not request curry or rice for my own sake and then eat it.

นะ อุชฌานะสัญญี ปะเรสัง ปัตตัง โอโลเกสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na ujjhānasaññī paresaṃ pattaṃ olokessāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not look at another's bowl with a critical attitude.

นาติมะหันตัง กะวะฬัง กะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Nātimahantaṃ kabaḷaṃ karissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not make an excessively large mouthful.

ปะริมัณฑะลัง อาโลปัง กะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Parimaṇḍalaṃ ālopaṃ karissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will make a round and proper morsel.

นะ อะนาหะเฏ กะวะเฬ มุขะท๎วารัง วิวะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na anāhaṭe kabaḷe mukhadvāraṃ vivarissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not open my mouth before the morsel has reached it.

นะ ภุญชะมาโน สัพพัง หัตถัง มุเข ปักขิปิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na bhuñjamāno sabbaṃ hatthaṃ mukhe pakkhipissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

While eating, I will not put my whole hand into my mouth.

นะ สะกะวะเฬนะ มุเขนะ พ๎ยาหะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sakabaḷena mukhena byāharissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not speak with my mouth full.

นะ ปิณฑุกเขปะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na piṇḍukkhepakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not toss lumps of food into my mouth.

นะ กะวะฬาวัจเฉทะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na kabaḷāvacchedakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not bite off pieces from a mouthful.

นะ อะวะคัณฑะการะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na avagaṇḍakārakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat stuffing my cheeks.

นะ หัตถะนิทธูนะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na hatthaniddhūnakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat shaking my hand.

นะ สิตถาวะการะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sitthāvakārakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat scattering grains of rice.

นะ ชิวหานิจฉาระกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na jivhānicchārakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat sticking out my tongue.

นะ จะปุจะปุการะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na capucapukārakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat making “chomping” sounds.

นะ สุรุสุรุการะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na surusurukārakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not eat making slurping sounds.

นะ หัตถะนิลเลหะกัง ภุญชิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na hatthanillehakaṃ bhuñjissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not lick my hand while eating.

I will not lick the bowl while eating.

I will not lick my lips while eating.

นะ สามิเสนะ หัตเถนะ ปานียะถาละกัง ปะฏิคคะเหสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sāmisena hatthena pānīyathālakaṃ paṭiggahessāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not accept a drinking vessel with a hand soiled by food.

นะ สะสิตถะกัง ปัตตะโธวะนัง อันตะระฆะเร ฉัฑเฑสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sasitthakaṃ pattadhovanaṃ antaraghare chaḍḍessāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not throw away bowl-washing water with food scraps in an inhabited area.

สะมะติงสะ โภชะนะปะฏิสังยุตตา.

Samatiṃsa bhojanapaṭisaṃyuttā.

นะ ฉัตตะปาณิสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na chatta-pāṇissa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is holding an umbrella.

นะ ทัณฑะปาณิสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na daṇḍa-pāṇissa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is holding a stick.

นะ สัตถะปาณิสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sattha-pāṇissa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is holding a knife.

นะ อาวุธะปาณิสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na āvudha-pāṇissa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is holding a weapon.

นะ ปาทุการูฬ๎หัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na pādukārūḷhassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is wearing wooden sandals.

นะ อุปาหะนารูฬ๎หัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na upāhanārūḷhassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is wearing shoes.

นะ ยานะคะตัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na yānagatassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is riding in a vehicle.

นะ สะยะนะคะตัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na sayanagatassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is lying down.

นะ ปัลลัตถิกายะ นิสินนัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na pallatthikāya nisinnassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while he is sitting clasping his knees.

นะ เวฏฐิตะสีสัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na veṭṭhitasīsassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while his head is wrapped (with a turban or cloth).

นะ โอคุณฐิตะสีสัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na oguṇṭhitasīsassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma to a person who is not ill while his head is covered.

นะ ฉะมายัง นิสีทิต๎วา อาสะเน นิสินนัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na chamāyaṃ nisīditvā āsane nisinnassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma while sitting on the ground to a person who is not ill who is sitting on a seat.

นะ นีเจ อาสะเน นิสีทิต๎วา อุจเจ อาสะเน นิสินนัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na nīce āsane nisīditvā ucce āsane nisinnassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma while sitting on a low seat to a person who is not ill who is sitting on a high seat.

นะ ฐิโต นิสินนัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na ṭhito nisinnassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma while standing to a person who is not ill who is sitting.

นะ ปัจฉะโต คัจฉันโต ปุระโต คัจฉันตัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na pacchato gacchanto purato gacchantassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma while walking behind a person who is not ill who is walking ahead.

นะ อุปปะเถนะ คัจฉันโต ปะเถนะ คัจฉันตัสสะ อะคิลานัสสะ ธัมมัง เทสิสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na uppathena gacchanto pathena gacchantassa agilānassa dhammaṃ desissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not teach the Dhamma while walking off the path to a person who is not ill who is walking on the path.

โสฬะสะ ธัมมะเทสะนาปะฏิสังยุตตา.

Soḷasa dhammadesanāpaṭisaṃyuttā.

นะ ฐิโต อะคิลาโน อุจจารัง วา ปัสสาวัง วา กะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na ṭhito agilāno uccāraṃ vā passāvaṃ vā karissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not, being in good health, urinate or defecate while standing.

นะ หะริเต อะคิลาโน อุจจารัง วา ปัสสาวัง วา เขฬัง วา กะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na harite agilāno uccāraṃ vā passāvaṃ vā kheḷaṃ vā karissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not, being in good health, urinate, defecate, or spit on green grass.

นะ อุทะเก อะคิลาโน อุจจารัง วา ปัสสาวัง วา เขฬัง วา กะริสสามีติ สิกขา กะระณียา.

Na udake agilāno uccāraṃ vā passāvaṃ vā kheḷaṃ vā karissāmīti sikkhā karaṇīyā.

I will not, being in good health, urinate, defecate, or spit into water.

ตะโย ปะกิณณะกา.
