Khayavayadhammā saṅkhārā appamādena sampādethāti.
I pay homage to the Buddha, who has crossed beyond the ocean of existence; the banner of the three worlds, the one supreme refuge of the three realms.
He who is the highest in the world, having cut off all defilements, awakened countless beings and led them to enlightenment.
I bow with my head to the sacred footprints that the Blessed One revealed upon the sandy banks of the River Nammadā; upon Mount Saccabandha; upon the summit of Mount Sumana; and within the city of Yonaka. At Suvaṇṇamālika Mountain, at Suvaṇṇapabbata Mountain, at Sumanakūṭa Mountain, in Yonaka City, and at the River Nammadā - these five sacred places of the noble footprints I revere from afar.
Thus paying homage to the Triple Gem, which is worthy of the highest veneration, I obtain a vast and abundant stream of merit. By the power of that merit, may all dangers be destroyed.
“Monks, I address you. Monks, I declare to you: All conditioned things are subject to decay. Strive diligently and accomplish your goal with heedfulness.”

Those who are endowed with moral shame (hiri) and moral fear (ottappa), who are established in pure (wholesome) qualities, who are peaceful and truly virtuous persons in this world - they are called “those who possess the qualities of the devas” (divine qualities).
